Will my existing eftpos Card still work?
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) issued instructions to financial institutions to begin phasing out Single Network Debit Cards (which are eftpos Cards) and to ensure that only Dual Network Debit cards (which are cards that allow payments to be made through both the eftpos network and the Visa network) are issued.
Therefore, from 24 October 2025, all Suncorp Bank eftpos cardholders will be issued with a Suncorp Bank Visa Debit Card to comply with the RBA’s instructions. It also means that all existing eftpos cards will no longer be able to be used from 23 November 2025.
