Team Girls

Our Ambassadors

We are proud to partner with a range of professionals and ambassadors to support us with our Team Girls program and be positive role models for young Australian girls. We collaborate with elite athletes, industry professionals and experts to provide parents with a range of resources and tools to help parents and families build the confidence of their girls.

Laura Geitz & Clare Ferguson

As friends, business partners and former Australian Diamonds co-captains, Laura Geitz and Clare Ferguson embody the values and attributes of Team Girls and can testify firsthand to the benefits of sports participation and confidence.

Both Laura and Clare have reached the pinnacle of Australian netball and beyond, establishing Fuel2Fly netball clinics to empower young girls to be healthy, active and confident. After retiring from netball to grow their young families, they continue to enjoy the support of their peers through their roles in coaching for the Australian Diamonds (Clare) and broadcast commentary (Laura and Clare). They are relatable and generous in spirit, and as a result Clare and Laura continue to be inspirational role models to young women around the country.

Rebecca Sparrow

Over the past 25 years Rebecca Sparrow has worn many hats – travel writer, magazine editor, newspaper columnist, TV scriptwriter, presenter and a novelist. She is the author of three best-selling novels, writes for Mamamia, co-hosts award-winning podcast, The Well, and mothers three children.

Her books, columns and articles are second-to-none resources for helping girls navigate their way through their formative years, and the parents who guide them – resources that are now also available on the Team Girls website. Bec is the epitome of Team Girls, she’s the friend you never knew you had, or needed.

Gretel Bueta

A role model to thousands of aspiring young netballers around the country, Gretel Bueta (Tippett) is a true Team Girl; always there for her Firebirds and Diamonds teammates, motivating them to perform their best, building them up to be the best version of themselves. Her 96% goal accuracy rate is testament to Gretel’s confidence on and off the court, along with her trademark lay-up shot. In 2019 Gretel was named International Player of the Year and was the recipient of the prestigious Liz Ellis Diamond, Netball Australia’s highest accolade. She loves spending time in nature, with friends and close-knit family and has a passion for health and nutrition, having recently completed her Nutrition and Dietetics Degree.
