Suncorp Bank sponsors charity ball to support Rural Queenslanders affected by recent floods

Rallying alongside three ex-jillaroos, Suncorp Bank was a platinum sponsor of the Rising Together for Rural Queensland Charity Ball, raising funds for those affected by the recent Rural Queensland Floods.

Suncorp Bank, EM Agri & Regional, Aliesha Christensen explained, “Suncorp Bank’s Heritage started more than 120 years ago in regional Queensland and, since then, our ties with rural Queensland communities have remained strong.”

“Suncorp Bank Relationship Managers have been on the ground responding and supporting our customers affected by the severe weather event. When the opportunity arose to show our support further, the answer was simple.”

The Rising Together for Rural Queensland Charity Ball was planned in three weeks with all proceeds raised going to Farm Angels, a charity empowering farmers to thrive and overcome challenges by providing relief, distributing resources and planning local events.

The event, held on Saturday 29 April, raised over $300,000 for those impacted in the 700,000 square kilometre flood region.

“While we leave the ball knowing we have made a positive impact, it’s far from over for our Suncorp Bank staff, customers and their communities,” said Aliesha.

“We need to continue to check in on our rural communities and rally together to show our support.”
