Suncorp Bank announces interest rate changes

Suncorp Bank has announced new interest rates for home loan customers following the Reserve Bank of Australia’s decision on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

From 15 May 2026, Suncorp Bank will increase home loan variable rates by 0.25% per annum (p.a.). 

Suncorp Bank will continue to review deposit and other rates.

 

Suncorp Bank Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Rush, acknowledges the challenging circumstances facing some Australians and reaffirms Suncorp Bank's commitment to providing support. 

 

"We recognise that the current economic environment continues to present challenges for some customers," Mr Rush said. 

"Our priority is to support customers financial wellbeing and help them navigate any financial challenges they may be facing at this time. We encourage customers who may be facing re-payment pressures to contact us so we can talk through the assistance options that may be available."

  • Customers can calculate how much their home loan repayments will increase via the Home Loan Repayment Calculator.   
  • Customers can utilise the savings in their Everyday Options Account and sub-accounts, by activating ‘offset mode’ to reduce their mortgage interest costs. 
  • Sign up to an Everyday Options Account which has no monthly fees and have the option to have up to nine sub-accounts to help reach spending and savings goals.
