Important information about changes to Carbon Insights Accounts

Carbon Insights Accounts are closing on 31 March 2026. Until this date, you can continue using your Carbon Insights Account and Visa Debit card as usual.

If you agreed to the change to your terms and conditions on or before 25 March 2026, your account will be renamed an Everyday Options Account and the varied term and conditions will apply on 31 March 2026 and your account will remain open.

If you did not agree to a change to your terms and conditions, your account will close on this date.

What does this mean for you?

If you agreed to the change to your terms and conditions

Your account terms and conditions are scheduled to be varied and your account renamed an Everyday Options Account on 31 March 2026.

There is nothing you need to do. There’s no change to the way you use or access your Account and Visa Debit card.

In early April 2026, we’ll send you a replacement Visa Debit card with an updated design but your account number and all your card details, including your card number and PIN, will remain the same, and your digital wallet will work as normal.

What will stay the same?

  • You'll keep the same account number and Visa Debit card details, including your PIN, and your digital wallet will work as usual.
  • Your automatic recurring payments, as well as direct deposits into your account (e.g. your salary), will continue as usual.
  • Your $0 monthly account keeping fee will remain.
  • You'll still be able to hold up to 9 Sub-Accounts.
  • Any existing flexiRatesƒ will continue.
  • You'll continue to have access to Feel Good Rewards.
  • You'll still be able to manage your account online and via the Suncorp Bank App.

What will change?

  • Your account will be renamed an Everyday Options Account (but your account details won’t change).
  • You’ll receive a replacement Visa Debit card with an updated design (but your card details and digital wallet access won’t change).
  • You’ll no longer be able to view estimated carbon emissions for your transactions».
  • You’ll have access to in-branch or Bank@Post services.
  • You’ll have the option to use your account as a Home Loan Offset Account*.

Additional information to consider

Accrued interest

When your account is renamed an Everyday Options Account on 31 March 2026, any interest you’ve accrued on your Carbon Insights Account will be applied to your account immediately as part of the change.

Youth account holder card restrictions

Your replacement Visa Debit card will continue to have restrictions on certain purchases, including gambling and lottery, for account holders under the age of 16.

If you did not agree to the change to your terms and conditions

Your Carbon Insights Account (and any Sub-Accounts) will close on 31 March 2026, and any Visa Debit cards linked to your account will be cancelled.

You can continue using your account until it closes.

  • If you have another Suncorp Bank account in the same name, we’ll automatically transfer any remaining funds from your Carbon Insights Account and Sub-Accounts to that account. If a transfer can’t be completed, you’ll need to contact us to recover your funds.
  • If you don’t have another Suncorp Bank account in the same name, you’ll need to contact us to recover your funds.

What happens to my flexiRates?

If you have flexiRates on your account when it closes on 31 March 2026, the amount of interest that you would have accrued had your account not been closed will be honoured. That amount will be paid into your Carbon Insights Account before closure.

Your current card will remain valid until you receive your replacement card. Once you receive it, destroy your old card securely and start using the new card.

Will I still be able to use account features like flexiRatesƒ and Sub-Accounts?

Yes. If you agreed to the change, most of the features you have now will still be available with an Everyday Options Account, including Sub-Accounts and flexiRatesƒ; however, you’ll no longer be able to view estimated carbon emissions for your transactions».

Will I still be able to access my past eStatements?

Yes. You’ll still be able to access all your historical eStatements. If you agreed to the change, the account name will simply change from Carbon Insights Account to Everyday Options Account and the varied terms and conditions will apply.

What happens to my Visa Debit card?

If you agreed to the change, we’ll send you a replacement Visa Debit card with an updated design in early April 2026. Your account number and Visa Debit card details, including your PIN, expiry date and CVV, will remain the same, and your Digital Wallet will work as usual.

If you didn’t agree to the change, your existing Visa Debit card will be cancelled when your account is closed on 31 March 2026.

What happens to my account nicknames?

If you agreed to the change, your existing Carbon Insights Main Account and Carbon Insights Sub-Account nicknames will stay the same.

What will happen to the PayID linked to my account?

If you agreed to the change, your PayID will stay the same. If you didn’t agree to the change, your PayID will close when your account is closed on 31 March 2026. You can close your PayID or transfer it to another bank account in the Suncorp Bank App before then.
