Important information about changes to Carbon Insights Accounts

After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to stop offering Carbon Insights Accounts for all customers from 31 March 2026.

Nothing changes for you right now; until 31 March, you can use and access your Carbon Insights Account and Visa Debit card as normal.

What does this mean for you?

We understand this is a meaningful change, so we’ve provided information below to help you understand your options.

What’s happening?

Suncorp Bank is closing all Carbon Insights Accounts. If you’re an existing Carbon Insights Account customer, you will have recently received an email from us about this change.

On 31 March 2026:

  • your Carbon Insights Account (and any Sub-Accounts), will be closed; and
  • your Visa Debit card linked to your Carbon Insights Main Account will be cancelled.

Until 31 March, there’s no change to the way you use or access your Carbon Insights Account and Visa Debit card.

You can choose to keep your account open by agreeing to change your terms and conditions, after which your account will be renamed an Everyday Options Account.

If you agree to the change, we’ll send you a replacement Visa Debit card with an updated design but your account number and all your card details, including your card number and PIN, will remain the same, and your digital wallet will work as normal.

This means:

If you want to keep your account open:

  • On 31 March 2026, the terms and conditions for any Carbon Insights Main Account/s and Carbon Insights Sub-Account/s you hold will be varied and your account/s will be renamed Everyday Options Account/s and Sub-Account/s.
  • In early April 2026, we’ll send you a replacement Visa Debit card for your Everyday Options Account but your account number, card details and PIN won’t change. You can continue using your existing card until the new card arrives.
  • If you don’t agree to the change to your terms and conditions your account will close on 31 March 2026, and any Visa Debit cards linked to your account will be cancelled.
  • If there is more than $5.00 remaining in your Carbon Insights Main Account or any Carbon Insights Sub-Accounts on 31 March 2026, and you have another Suncorp Bank account in the same name, we will automatically transfer the remaining funds from your Carbon Insights Account and Sub-Accounts to your other Suncorp Bank account.
  • If there is $5.00 or less remaining in your Carbon Insights Main Account or any Carbon Insights Sub-Accounts, or you don’t have another Suncorp Bank account in the same name, you will need to contact us to recover your funds.
  • If your account is closed on 31 March 2026 and you have flexiRatesƒ on your account, the amount of interest that you would have accrued had your account not have been closed will be honoured. That amount will be paid into your Carbon Insights Account before 31 March 2026.
