The forum will bring to the surface the positive stories to motivate and inspire other women on the land.
Suncorp Bank’s Regional General Manager David Littleproud for South West Queensland says the event will be a key platform for the voice of rural women.
“I’ve seen first hand the contribution of rural woman on the farm, they’re both the glue holding the family farm together and managing the business,” Mr Littleproud said.
“Women are great communicators and with more customers wanting to know the story behind the produce, they’re the best story tellers.”
The Chatting About Change forum is designed to inspire and empower woman and directed at women in a range of situations but who may find it difficult to attend urban-based events.
“Traditionally agriculture has had a strong representation by men, this forum will give women the opportunity to connect and create a larger voice,” he said.
“Rural women play a key role not only on the farms but in their local communities and economies.”
