Two of Australia’s most famous cricketing personalities will join two of Queensland’s most famous musicians, in Far North Queensland on May 17th when the Bulls Masters head to Cairns.
Former Australian Test cricketer and current coach of the Australian cricket team Darren Lehmann and Test cricketer Ryan Harris will take part in a Twenty20 exhibition match.
Suncorp Bank Regional Manager for North Queensland Brad Steele said it’s a rare opportunity for Far North Queenslanders to see the greats of the game.
“I encourage all youngsters in the area to come out and watch the game and get involved with the Bulls Masters,” Mr Steele said.
Joining the cricketers will be Queensland music legends Andrew Morris, member of country band The Wilson Pickers, and Bernard Fanning the lead singer of one of Australia’s most famous alternative rock bands, Powderfinger, and keen cricketer.
Suncorp Bank is in its second year of involvement with the not-for-profit Bulls Masters organisation formed by ex-international cricketers Jimmy Maher, Andrew Bichel, Martin Kent, Michael Kasprowicz and Ian Healy.
The organisation aims to foster and develop cricket throughout Queensland, provide community support and assistance to charities, and promote sport in Indigenous communities.
The Bulls Masters organisation is supported by Queensland cricket stars to help communities and local Queensland charities in raising funds for facilities, youth activities and indigenous communities.
Suncorp Bank continues its support of the Bulls Masters organisation, increasing investment into our communities and emphasising the importance of being SunWise.
“We’ll be donating two shade tents on this tour, one to the Good Council College in Innisfail and one for Cricket Far North,” Mr Steele said.
Suncorp Bank will donate twelve SunWise tents this year to local associations and cricketing clubs to help make a difference to the local communities.
