Suncorp Bank appoints specialist banking team for the Central Highlands

Thursday, 20 August 2015

Suncorp Bank has bolstered its commitment to regional Queensland with the appointment of three agribusiness Relationship Managers to support customers on the ground in the Central Highlands.

The appointment follows last month’s announcement of Brecken Curtis to the newly created role of Regional Manager for Western Queensland.

Suncorp Bank Regional Manager for Western Queensland, Brecken Curtis, said he was proud to lead the regional team of specialised bankers to support agribusinesses and producers in the area.

“Suncorp Bank is one of the only financial institutions to have a dedicated regional manager and specialised agribusiness banking team on the ground in the Central Highlands. Our presence here highlights our ongoing commitment to supporting this important sector,” Mr Curtis said.

“With the addition of Brooke O’Keeffe, Tim Murphy and Vern Ezzy as Relationship Managers, local producers will have face-to-face connections with knowledgeable, passionate people to help them through the difficulties associated with seasonal change.

“Brooke grew up on a local property outside Springsure before joining Suncorp Bank in 2011. Having worked in Emerald for the past five years, Brooke has a deep appreciation for the difficulties faced by local business owners.

“Tim recently relocated to Emerald following his work with Asia’s leading agribusiness group, Wilmar International. He has a wealth of knowledge from his experience in supply chain management and project management on a global scale to help inform local businesses.

“Vern Ezzy has a diverse skillset with more than 25 years corporate agribusiness experience, and local knowledge having spent time in Emerald during his earlier career.”

Suncorp Bank Relationship Manager, Vern Ezzy, said that on behalf of the team, he looked forward to working with local business owners to help them achieve their financial goals.

“Suncorp Bank is dedicated to ensuring the economic growth of regional and remote communities. I believe the Central Highlands has a lot to offer families and farmers who choose to build their life here and feel optimistic about the sector moving forward,” Mr Ezzy said.

“As we know, change is constant in the agriculture sector and there are many things out of our control. Having a transparent, close-working relationship with your Bank is an essential first-step in navigating through the good and challenging times.

“Brooke, Tim, and I, look forward to working with local businesses to help them achieve their goals and build a sustainable future for the region.”
