There will be a distinct cricketing flavour in Mount Isa this week with players from the Bulls Masters visiting local schools to teach the next generation of Queensland cricketers.
Jimmy Maher, Andy Bichel, Ken Healy and Andrew Symonds will be signing autographs, meeting locals, visiting schools and running several cricket clinics in the town this Thursday 7 August 2014.
Suncorp Bank’s Regional Manager for North Queensland Brad Steele said the Bank was very proud to support the not-for-profit Bulls Masters in giving back to regional communities and inspiring youngsters throughout Queensland.
“Our region is really privileged to have some of the greats of the game come and visit. They do a wonderful job in helping local communities and charities raise funds for much needed facilities and youth activities, which is extremely important to Suncorp as a regional bank with a strong heritage in Queensland,” Mr Steele said.
“Having these cricketing clinics come to Mount Isa provides a terrific opportunity for the local school children to be inspired and learn from the best about this great game,” he said.
While in Mount Isa the Bulls Masters will be donating three fully signed bats to Relay For Life to assist them with their fundraising in the fight against cancer.
Suncorp Bank has long been emphasising the importance of being SunWise and along with the Bulls Masters is pleased to donate a shade tent to the Mount Isa Primary Schools Sports Association (MIPSSA) to be lent out to all the schools and sporting clubs in Mount Isa for use on their sports days.
The Bulls Masters will be signing posters and meeting locals at the Suncorp Bank Branch in Kmart Plaza, Shop 11, Simpson Street, Mount Isa from 11am – 1pm on Thursday, August 7.
School visits and cricket clinics will be also be held on Thursday 7 August at:
- 9:45am at Healy State School, 509 Thompson Road, Healy.
- 1:30pm at St Kierans Catholic Primary School, Short Street, Mount Isa.
