Suncorp Bank has today announced the latest enhancement to its award-winning Mobile Banking App with the introduction of Fingerprint Login.
The new feature leverages Apple biometric technology and enables customers with compatible iPhone and iPad devices to log into their accounts at the touch of a finger.
Suncorp Bank Digital Banking Manager, Simon Clarke, said the introduction of Fingerprint Login supported customer requests for quicker access to account balances and mobile banking services.
“Our iOS customers asked for this feature and we have delivered on our commitment to offer fast, simple, and convenient mobile banking options, empowering our customers to bank when, where, and how they want,” Mr Clarke said.
“40 per cent of our iOS customers already have a fingerprint ready device and are looking for more streamlined security options to manage their money on the go. “The integration of fingerprint identification simplifies the user experience by offering another option for our customers to access the Suncorp Bank Mobile Banking App quickly and securely, without the need to remember a password or continually enter a passcode.”
Suncorp Bank’s mobile app development team worked collaboratively with product, security, and marketing teams to bring the Fingerprint Login concept to life.
“Our cross-functional app development team worked collaboratively across the Bank to deliver an end feature that was simple and easy to use,” Mr Clarke said.
“We believe Fingerprint Login will help bridge the gap between security and ease for these customers.”
Suncorp Bank has continued to show its commitment to delivering innovative digital solutions, having released six mobile app releases this year including Australia’s first BillSplitter feature as part of a banking app.
“We have seen a 73 per cent increase in mobile banking activity over the past 12 months, with more than 90 million self-service transactions performed via our mobile app,” Mr Clarke said.
“Suncorp Bank is committed to investing in new digital solutions and the latest app technology to make the digital banking experience quicker, easier and more secure for customers.”
Fingerprint Login is available on the Suncorp Bank Mobile Banking App from Wednesday, 12 August on iPhone 5s, 6, 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.
