Discover Mother Nature’s plans for 2015

23 February 2015

The secrets of seasonal forecasting will be revealed in Dalby next month, when Suncorp Bank and BMO Accountants host internationally renowned climatologist, Professor Roger Stone at the ‘Will it rain, hail or shine in 2015’ seminar on Thursday, 12 February.

With more than 35 years experience in meteorological and climatological research, Professor Stone said he wants locals to walk away from the seminar with the skills and knowledge to benefit from climate forecasting.

“Insights gained from seasonal forecasting can bolster the capabilities of a farm management plan,” Professor Stone said.

“We can not control the weather, however understanding how to predict and plan for changing conditions can provide opportunities for businesses to capitalise on positive weather patterns and also reduce risks during drier conditions.”

Suncorp Bank Regional Manager for Central and South West Queensland, David Littleproud, said the seminar is the perfect platform for local residents to come together, exchange experiences and gain an insight into Professor Stone’s weather predictions for 2015.

“Professor Stone is internationally renowned for the support he has provided to farmers from regional communities throughout Australia. I am thrilled to have him join us in Dalby next month,” Mr Littleproud said.

“We know change is a constant and that there are many things beyond anyone’s control, like the weather, but it’s important to be kept well informed and understand what you can control in order to build a plan to best deal with change and capitalise on the opportunities that present themselves.”

The ‘Will it rain, hail or shine in 2015 seminar is a free community event.
