Australian Sporting Great and Financial Markets Specialist Arrive in Regional NSW

11 March 2015

An Australian sporting icon, a financial markets and commodities specialist and a team of agribusiness banking professionals, will travel the roads of regional New South Wales this month for the annual Suncorp Bank agribusiness roadshow series.

The series of free community events will see former international cricket legend, Dennis Lillee, and Suncorp Bank Head of Treasury Research, Darryl Conroy, visit local residents in Moree, Dubbo and Tamworth to provide expert information on financial markets, commodities, overcoming adversity and managing change.

Suncorp Bank Regional Manager for New South Wales, Stephen Morgan, said he was proud to deliver a series of events which would provide practical support and guidance to local communities.

“As Australia’s leading regional bank, we are committed to ensuring residents living in rural and regional areas across the country receive the support and guidance they need to run a successful business,” Mr Morgan said.

“We launched the Suncorp Bank agribusiness roadshow series four years ago in a bid to provide local residents with the opportunity to engage with high calibre speakers and ask questions about how to best manage personal and business challenges, change and opportunities.

“Dennis Lillee is an internationally recognised hero, not only for what he achieved throughout his 13 years of test cricket but also for his relentless approach to overcoming adversity and the health obstacles he encountered through his stellar sporting career.”

Dennis Lillee will share the stage with Suncorp Bank Head of Treasury Research, Darryl Conroy, who will share his knowledge and give an insight into recent financial market movements, interest rates, currencies and commodities at a national and global level.

“The past year has delivered mixed fortunes for a number of regions across the state, however the low Australian dollar, international demand for Australian produce and generational low interest rates has allowed us to be cautiously optimistic about the year ahead,” Mr Conroy said.
