How to Apply
Please make sure you read the criteria below before applying for a Suncorp Clear Options Credit Card. You can apply online for a Standard, Gold or Platinum card.
Make sure you have your mobile handy so we can send you a One-Time Pin (OTP) to help you retrieve your saved application securely.
Have your 17 digit Application Reference Number ready to check your application status. You can upload documents by clicking the Application Status option, then clicking ‘Upload File’.
Applying for a Suncorp Clear Options is simple. The process should take less than 10 minutes to complete (as long as you have your personal info ready), and you’ll receive a response from Citigroup 60 seconds after submitting the form.
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
|Standard Credit Card||Gold Credit Card||Platinum Credit Card|
|Yearly Taxable Income||$25,000 per year or more||$30,000 per year or more||$35,000 per year or more|
|Credit Rating||Have a good credit rating|
|Residency||Are a permanent Australian resident|
|Existing Cardholders||If you are an existing Suncorp Clear Options credit cardholder, you must have held your current Suncorp credit card account for at least 9 months before you can apply for another Suncorp Clear Options credit card|
Please note that if you do not satisfy all these criteria, we apologise, but you will not be eligible for a Suncorp Clear Options Standard Credit Card at this time.
Business Credit Cards
We are unable to process online business credit card applications at this time. Please choose one of the application options below:
Information required when applying online:
Your personal details
- Your contact details
- Driver's licence number (if you have one)
- Current residential status (and previous residential details if you have been at your current address for less than 3 years)
Your financial position
- Your employer's address and switch telephone number (as listed in the White Pages).
- Annual / monthly income (before and after tax).
- Contact details for your accountant if self-employed.
- Types and amounts of other income (e.g. rental income).
- Details of your main expenses, including the current balances owing on your credit cards, loans and investment mortgages.
If you plan to transfer a balance from another financial institution, please provide us with key details of that account, including: the name the account's held in; the type of card/account; the card/account number; the amount to be transferred and the issuing organisation's name and address.
Save and retrieve your application
If you are unable to complete the application for any reason, there is a save and retrieve function which you can use to complete the application at a later time. Please note that you are required to provide a valid mobile number during the application process as we will send a One-Time PIN (OTP) via SMS, which you need to retrieve your application.
If you don’t have the necessary documents on hand at the time of your application, you are able to submit your application first and use the document upload function to submit your documents online at a later stage.
Speed up your credit card application
To streamline approval, ensure you give us a contact phone number that we can call you on easily. You can also contact your payroll department (or accountant if you're self-employed) in advance to ensure they're ready and willing to confirm your income details when we call for verification.
Check your application status
Once you've submitted your online application, you'll receive a confirmation email from Citigroup containing your 17-digit Application Reference Number. You can check the status of your application by using the application status function on the website. Please keep a record of the 17-digit Application Reference Number as you will need to enter this number to check the status of your application.
